Inspired by the NBA’s weekly Power Rankings, in which all 30 teams are judged on current performance, overall strength, and a hint of potential rather than just the cold, hard standings, Football365 has brought the concept to the Premier League.
Over there, respected analysts and former players debate the finer details. Here on Football365, the task instead falls to one 30-year-old Scottish bloke who is unashamedly determined to find a way to put Bukayo Saka top every week.
This list blends a player’s overall ability with their present form, though what they’re delivering right now takes precedence. It’s the definitive (ish) ranking of the best 30 performers in the Premier League this season, sprinkled with a touch of footballing common sense rather than relying purely on spreadsheets and xG charts, though they do matter.
One rule: injuries mean immediate exile. That’s why there’s no Reece James or Bruno Guimaraes, for example.

14) Elliot Anderson (Nottingham Forest)
England seem to have finally found the perfect No.6 to help unlock Declan Rice’s attacking strengths. Win, lose, or draw, he is more often than not Forest’s best player. His goal against Man City was a belter.
13) Virgil van Dijk (Liverpool)
Van Dyke leads the Premier League for aerial duels won, clearances, minutes played and passes completed this season.
12) Matheus Cunha (Manchester United)
Man Utd’s summer business is aging quite well.
11) Dominik Szoboszlai (Liverpool)
Liverpool’s best player this term. He scored a fourth Premier League free kick of the season against Spurs, thanks to a helping weak hand from Guglielmo Vicario.
10) Gianluigi Donnarumma (Manchester City)
Man City signed the best goalkeeper in the world just because they could. Poor James Trafford.
9) Erling Haaland (Manchester City)
Haaland’s name is carrying him quite significantly here. He’s not been very good for a little too long.
8) Casemiro (Manchester United)
The football has not left him, as it goes.
7) Igor Thiago (Brentford)
Thiago has already broke the record for most goals scored by a Brazilian player in a Premier League season. It was 15. It’s currently 19. And counting. His reward is a place in the Brazil squad for the very first time. Ahead of Neymar.
6) Harry Wilson (Fulham)
It’s crazy what being in the final year of your contract will do to a player…
5) Antoine Semenyo (Manchester City)
What a season he’s having, by the way. The January signing could be the difference between City and Arsenal in the title race.
4) Marc Guehi (Manchester City)
Guehi has brought a fresh calmness to the City backline. He is yet to taste defeat in the Premier League for his new club.
3) Gabriel Magalhaes (Arsenal)
Big Gabi loves causing havoc from set-pieces. And a bit of flopping.
2) Bruno Fernandes (Manchester United)
Only needs five to break the assists record and has been absolutely stupendous under interim manager Michael Carrick.
1) Declan Rice (Arsenal)
Arsenal are top of the Premier League but more importantly, Rice is top of F365’s Power Rankings.
