However, the league title is in the hands of their rivals, who have a game in hand ahead of Sunday\u2019s potentially decisive clash between the two teams at the Etihad.<\/p>\n<p><strong>READ: Arsenal issued four-word warning by Manchester City star \u2013 but there\u2019s a slight catch<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Arteta has rarely been under this much pressure at Arsenal, and Ornstein suspects he may be out of a job if his side fail to win the Premier League and\/or Champions League this season.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m sure Arsenal want Arteta to continue into next season and beyond (he\u2019s contracted until June 2027 at present), while it sounds from Arteta\u2019s own words as though he wants the same,\u201d Ornstein said in Q&#038;A for The Athletic.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf things go badly for them between now and the summer, I\u2019m sure there will be some very difficult conversations and it would be naive of me to say I can\u2019t see a world in which he departs \u2013 nothing surprises you in football and (for various reasons) I would say that about pretty much every Premier League club at the moment.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo, the intention is clear \u2013 but obviously there is a lot riding on the weeks ahead.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><smartframe-embed customer-id=\"0b629b85ba2abe5ff39df9829ee5fb57\" image-id=\"mcfckUc6av6J\" style=\"width: 100%; display: inline-flex; max-width: 100%;\"\/><\/p>\n<p>And while previewing Sunday\u2019s game between Arsenal and Man City, Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has warned Arteta that he faces \u2018serious implications\u2019 if he does not win a trophy this season.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018An Arsenal win at the Etihad will allow them to ease over the finishing line. A draw means they can crawl across.
