England boss Thomas Tuchel has been labelled \u201carrogant\u201d for his team selection against Uruguay and has been criticised for recalling Ben White.<\/p>\n
The Three Lions<\/strong> are finalising their preparations for the World Cup and drew 1-1 against Uruguay in a friendly at Wembley on Friday night.<\/p>\n Head coach Tuchel<\/strong> named a makeshift team for this match, having allowed plenty of England\u2019s fringe players to impress against Uruguay.<\/p>\n However, most of England\u2019s stand-ins struggled as they laboured to a dull 1-1 draw, with the return of Arsenal star White hogging the headlines after the match.<\/p>\n This was his first England appearance since stepping away before the 2022 World Cup over a conflict with former assistant Steve Holland, and White was booed by a portion of home supporters when he was brought on.<\/p>\n READ: England player ratings vs Uruguay: Ben White booed as Tuchel\u2019s fringe stars fail to impress<\/strong><\/p>\n White also scored and conceded a penalty, while Tuchel said after the game that he was \u201cdisappointed\u201d with the crowd reaction.<\/p>\n Now, talkSPORT<\/em> presenter Adrian Durham has hit out at Tuchel\u2019s \u201carrogant\u201d decisions against Uruguay, while he failed to \u201cread the room\u201d with the White situation.<\/p>\n \u201cYou\u2019re asking football fans to pay a hefty ticket price to go and watch a team full of players, many of whom won\u2019t be in the World Cup squad,\u201d Durham told talkSPORT.<\/p>\n \u201cFor me it was the height of arrogance from England to think that they\u2019ve got a friendly a couple of months out from the World Cup and Thomas Tuchel, the manager, can say to the senior players, to the best 11, \u2018You don\u2019t need to play in this one, we\u2019ll be OK, we\u2019ll be fine for the World Cup if you don\u2019t practice together.\u2019<\/p>\n \u201cDo you really think that, mate? I\u2019m not sure that\u2019s true.<\/p>\n \u201cAnd on the Ben White thing, he\u2019s completely not read the room.
