Morgan Rogers is ready to join Arsenal and play under Mikel Arteta at the Emirates Stadium, according to two sources, but a presenter has urged the Aston Villa attacking midfielder not to make the move to the Gunners.<\/p>\n
Arsenal<\/strong> are planning to go big in the summer transfer window and want to sign Rogers<\/strong> from Villa in the summer transfer window.<\/p>\n Villa<\/strong>who won the Europa League this season and will feature in the Champions League in the 2026\/27 campaign, are open to selling Rogers.<\/p>\n Earlier this week, BBC Sport<\/em> journalist Sami Mokbel<\/em> reported that Rogers \u2018is open to joining\u00a0Arsenal\u00a0ahead of next season\u2019<\/strong>.<\/p>\n It has now been backed by journalist Jamie Dickenson<\/em>who has reported that Arsenal have identified the 23-year-old England international as \u201ca prime target\u201d.<\/p>\n Dickenson wrote on X<\/em> at 11:45am on June 2: \u201cMorgan Rogers has given the thumbs up to joining Arsenal in a blockbuster summer move.<\/p>\n READ:\u00a0Arsenal desperate not to join the worst ever Premier League champion transfer XI<\/strong><\/p>\n \u201cRogers is open to joining the Arsenal squad ahead of next season after their Premier League winning campaign.<\/p>\n \u201cMikel Arteta and the Arsenal hierarchy are already working on replacements and have identified the \u00a3100m rated Rogers as a prime target.<\/p>\n \u201cThe Gunners are also in the market for another forward or two depending on player sales and are considering another central midfielder and a full-back.\u201d<\/p>\n Rogers is an attacking midfielder by trade, but the 23-year-old is able to feature as a left-winger as well.<\/p>\n The England international found the back of the net 14 times and provided 12 assists in 55 matches in all competitions for Unai Emery\u2019s side this season.<\/p>\n READ MORE: \u00a0\u2018Anti-Arsenal law\u2019 introduced for World Cup as England and Tuchel rocked by yet more \u2018leaks\u2019<\/strong><\/p>\n Villa striker Ollie Watkins is a huge fan of Rogers and has outlined what makes his England international and club team-mate so special.<\/p>\n Watkins said about Rogers on Rio Ferdinand\u2019s YouTube channel<\/em>: \u201cI always say to him or sometimes, I say to the boys, \u2018Look for Morgan. Give him the ball.\u2019 Because I know, if Morgan gets the ball, he\u2019s going to look for me. So, I\u2019m saying get the ball to Morgan.\u201d<\/p>\n Watkins added: \u201cBut not only that, not selfishly because of me but because he\u2019s a player than can create things from nothing. He\u2019s very talented, he\u2019s always going to look forward and he\u2019s probably not going to get the ball and play it backwards. He\u2019s going to try and create something and make things happen.\u201d<\/p>\n Villa manager Unai Emery has also been effusive in his praise of Rogers.<\/p>\n Emery told ESPN<\/em> about Rogers on December 21, 2025, after he scored twice against Manchester United: \u201cWe need the numbers of the players and today and last week Morgan Rogers is performing fantastically, but he has started the season not getting (goalscoring) numbers but playing well.<\/p>\n \u201cAlways doing his task, always with the commitment he\u2019s showing, with the attitude he has, played each match.<\/p>\n \u201cToday he did the same and scored goals, of course. He is the protagonist.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m so, so happy because he\u2019s a fighter.
