{"id":1723,"date":"2026-06-03T19:51:24","date_gmt":"2026-06-03T19:51:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/esport.com.ng\/?p=1723"},"modified":"2026-06-03T19:51:24","modified_gmt":"2026-06-03T19:51:24","slug":"e60m-barcelona-midfielder-close-to-signing-with-gunners","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/esport.com.ng\/?p=1723","title":{"rendered":"\u20ac60m Barcelona midfielder \u2018close to signing with\u2019 Gunners"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div><!-- Article Start --><\/p>\n<p>Barcelona attacking midfielder Dani Olmo is set to join Arsenal and work under manager Mikel Arteta at the Emirates Stadium, according to a report.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Arsenal<\/strong> have had a very successful 2025\/26 campaign, as the north London club won the Premier League title and reached the final of the Champions League.<\/p>\n<p>Manager Arteta and sporting director Andrea Berta are not going to rest on their laurels, though, as <strong>Arsenal plan to go big in the summer transfer window<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Arsenal are keen on strengthening their attacking department, especially the left wing.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Martin Odegaard\u2019s future at Arsenal is far from certain<\/strong>despite the Norway international attacking midfielder being the club captain.<\/p>\n<p>It has now emerged that <strong>Barcelona<\/strong> star <strong>Dani Olmo<\/strong> is on the verge of a move to Arsenal.<\/p>\n<p><strong>READ: Every Premier League transfer confirmed in the summer of 2026<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Olmo joined Barcelona from RB Leipzig in the summer of 2024 for \u20ac60million (\u00a352m) and is under contract at the Spanish champions until 2030.<\/p>\n<p>The Spain international attacking midfielder has scored 20 goals and given 17 assists in 88 matches in all competitions for Barca so far in his career.<\/p>\n<p>Best deployed as an attacking midfielder, Olmo is also able to feature as a left winger, right winger and even in central midfield.<\/p>\n<p><smartframe-embed customer-id=\"04742eb90cefa12a5e3ab9bae92c2b93\" image-id=\"neim1zGu3iij\" style=\"width: 100%; display: inline-flex; max-width: 100%;\"\/><\/p>\n<h2><strong>Dani Olmo to leave Barcelona for Arsenal<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Enric Canyellas, who has almost 35,000 followers on X, has claimed that Olmo is set to move to Arsenal, although he does not want the attacker to leave Barcelona.<\/p>\n<p>Canyellas wrote on <em>X<\/em> at 11:46am on June 1: \u201cDani Olmo close to signing with Arsenal.<\/p>\n<p><strong>READ MORE: The cautionary tale of Ebere Eze, the World Cup-bound star who won the title at his boyhood club<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cRight now, he has a good chance of leaving.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDirect information from London\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Canyellas added at 1:49pm: \u201cIn my opinion, I\u2019m a huge fan of Olmo, I don\u2019t want him to leave, but with Bernardo\u2019s arrival and what Bar\u00e7a has in the midfield, I\u2019m at ease.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>There have been reports elsewhere, though, that Barcelona plan to keep Olmo.<\/p>\n<p>According to <em>MD<\/em>Olmo will \u2018receive a contract extension this summer\u2019 from Barcelona.<\/p>\n<p>The Barcelona-leaning Spanish publication has added that the Spaniard\u2019s \u2018commitment to\u00a0Barca\u00a0remains strong and is only getting stronger\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>The report further stated: \u2018The Catalan club is grateful for the Spanish international\u2019s efforts in signing with them in the summer of 2024.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018At that time,\u00a0Olmo\u00a0also turned down other, higher offers to comply with Financial Fair Play regulations.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018Dani did everything he could to facilitate his registration, which took longer than expected.
