{"id":169,"date":"2026-03-27T19:45:02","date_gmt":"2026-03-27T19:45:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/esport.com.ng\/?p=169"},"modified":"2026-03-27T19:45:02","modified_gmt":"2026-03-27T19:45:02","slug":"two-reasons-arsenal-star-could-join-as-two-done-deals-pave-way-for-52m-transfer","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/esport.com.ng\/?p=169","title":{"rendered":"Two reasons Arsenal star could join as two done deals pave way for \u00a352m transfer"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div><!-- Article Start --><\/p>\n<p>Man Utd could seal a deal to sign Myles Lewis-Skelly from Arsenal in the summer transfer window as the Gunners \u2018won\u2019t stand in his way\u2019, according to reports.<\/p>\n<p>The Red Devils are looking to sign at least one new midfielder in the summer, as well as a left winger and left-back, as <strong>Man Utd<\/strong> look to build on Michael Carrick\u2019s strong form.<\/p>\n<p>It is not yet clear if Man Utd interim boss Carrick will still be at the helm next season but he has put them in a brilliant position to qualify for the Champions League and boost their revenue.<\/p>\n<p>One left-back Man Utd are considering is Lewis-Skelly <strong>with our friends at <em>TEAMtalk<\/em> revealing last week<\/strong> that the Red Devils\u2019 \u2018decision-makers are increasingly focused on strengthening depth at left-back\u2019 and that the <strong>Arsenal<\/strong> star is on their shortlist.<\/p>\n<p>And now <em>Football Transfers<\/em> have brought an update via their transfer expert Steve Kay, who has revealed why Man Utd have a genuine chance of signing Lewis-Skelly in the summer.<\/p>\n<p>Kay told <em>Football Transfers<\/em>: \u201cOrdinarily, there would be no chance of a deal, but if Myles is instigating this, then Arsenal won\u2019t stand in his way.<\/p>\n<p><strong>MAILBOX: Carrick in or out? Man Utd would be stupid to rush manager decision<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt must be tough for him, going from what he personally achieved last season to third-choice left-back this season.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd remember Arsenal have already allowed Chido Obi-Martin and Ayden Heaven join Man Utd. A loan could be on the cards based on that.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Arsenal wanted to keep both Obi-Martin and Heaven but in the end the Gunners didn\u2019t want to block their progression, a stance which could help Man Utd.<\/p>\n<p><smartframe-embed customer-id=\"04742eb90cefa12a5e3ab9bae92c2b93\" image-id=\"neimG68ctbrY\" style=\"width: 100%; display: inline-flex; max-width: 100%;\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Key added: \u201cArsenal did offer Obi-Martin what they thought was a very good, fair package to secure his future, but my understanding was that his family wanted more money. Arsenal refused to go higher, hence he ended up at United. He\u2019s not been heard of this season.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHeaven just wanted game time. Money wasn\u2019t a factor. He just wanted to play. He left Arsenal on much better terms. He\u2019s a different type of character altogether and it\u2019s no surprise he\u2019s put in some very good performances in the Man Utd first team.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>READ: Ryanair do an Arsenal funny in worst example of tiresome social media trend<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Lewis-Skelly remains behind Piero Hincapie and Riccardo Calafiori in the pecking order at Arsenal and was an unused substitute as the Gunners lost 2-0 to Manchester City in the Carabao Cup final on Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>And Arsenal legend Ian Wright thinks Lewis-Skelly could have made a real difference for the Gunners in that match.<\/p>\n<p>Wright said on <em>The Overlap<\/em>: \u201cI\u2019ve mentioned Myles Lewis-Skelly when he played against Real Madrid last time, had an unbelievable game.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThen he\u2019s kind of been dropped back out of it, and I\u2019m thinking in that game, on Sunday, a left-back who can invert what we need is somebody comfortable on the ball.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat\u2019s the game he should be playing in, because then he\u2019s somebody who can get on the ball, and at least we can link.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Wright continued: \u201cThere\u2019s no way, Myles Lewis-Skelly, the way he started his career, he hasn\u2019t got the capability to go on and do, I\u2019m not saying he\u2019s gonna do exactly what (Nico) O\u2019Reilly\u2019s done, but the confidence it gives him in playing is going be a lot probably more confident than he is right now.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe can\u2019t get into the team at the moment, whether it\u2019s behind Hincapie or if it\u2019s behind Calafiori. This guy is a footballer. We needed a footballer on Sunday, and those are the things that I\u2019m sitting there watching us do, watching us do nothing.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m thinking to myself, if the Arsenal fans saw someone like him come on and do a couple of things, everybody, it gets us going, it gets people going again.
