According to reports, two Arsenal players are close to signing new contracts, while the club has chosen their \u2018two main\u2019 targets.<\/p>\n
It has been a week of celebrations at Arsenal<\/strong>who have ended their 22-year wait for the Premier League title by edging out Manchester City to be crowned champions.<\/p>\n The pressure is now off the Gunners for their final match of the Premier League season against Crystal Palace this weekend, but they could still do the double by winning the Champions League final later this month.<\/p>\n Arsenal are deserving of the Premier League title and Mikel Arteta<\/strong> already has one of the most complete squads in Europe, but they would be foolish to stand still this summer and they are already at work on their business ahead of next season.<\/p>\n The Gunners have invested heavily in the transfer market over recent windows, so it is hardly surprising that it is being reported that they will have to offload several valuable assets to balance the books this summer.<\/p>\n READ: Arsenal labelled the \u2018worst\u2019 and \u2018greatest\u2019 PL champions ever as \u2018real challenge\u2019 for Arteta next Earlier this week, a report claimed as many as eight players could be sold by Arsenal this summer, while it is clear that they will \u2018exercise\u2019 their clause to sign Piero Hincapie permanently for around \u00a345m.<\/strong><\/p>\n Now, Caught Offside<\/em> have shed light on what is going on at Arsenal, who are continuing work to tie key players to long-term contracts.<\/p>\n In recent months, William Saliba, Gabriel Magalhaes, Ethan Nwaneri and Myles Lewis-Skelly have signed new deals, and the report claims talks over a \u2018major deal\u2019 for Jurrien Timber are now at an \u2018advanced stage\u2019 and could be sealed before the World Cup.<\/p>\n The same report claims Declan Rice is also \u2018set for a new deal\u2019 and there have been \u2018very positive early talks\u2019, though this is \u2018not quite as advanced\u2019.<\/p>\n READ MORE: Arsenal dominate ranking of ways to win title from worst to best \u2013 but 2026 effort is 30th<\/strong><\/p>\n The same report also names the \u201cmain two names\u201d on Arsenal\u2019s radar to imrpove their attack, while three players are \u2018likely\u2019 to leave.<\/p>\n They explained:<\/p>\n \u2018Even if Arsenal will feel their spending on new attacking players like Viktor Gyokeres and Eberechi Eze last summer ultimately did the job to deliver them the title, there\u2019s still a recognition that it\u2019s the one area that could really do with improvement.
